What happens to all the digital info we leave behind, our countless email ids, our profile in social networking sites

What happens to my email id when I die?
Your email has no way of monitoring the users who are accessing it. When an e-mail has not been accessed for a certain amount of time, the account may get locked or even deleted. Some websites will keep your e-mail active indefinitely regardless of your accessing it or not.

Reply:i guess it stays in there just waiting for hackers n spammers to find your password out.. my uncle passed away last year n his yahoo account is still up.... im sure after about 3-5 years of not being logged into.. it will automatically cancel or sumthing,, thats if no1 figured out your password.

Reply:Eventually, after they haven't been accessed 4 awhile, they will be cancelled.
Reply:well..eventually your email would expire since it hasnt been accessed too..your website ids will still exist untill probably the site shuts down. some places may have expiry dates too like if you havent used it lately they'll ask whether you want to keep it or not..

Reply:it wont know..but if you leave it for too long usually Yahoo or whomever you email with will shut down your account because its inactive
